    The following awards are presented annually (Former Titles and Criteria in boxes on right):

  • Craftsman Award
      To be awarded, on the nomination of FAS training centers and / or Carlow Institute of Technology, to the best final year instrumentation Apprentice for notable academic and practical achievements in instrumentation.
  • Craft Apprentice award
      To be awarded, on the nomination of FAS training centres and/or Carlow IT, to the best final year Instrumentation Apprentice for notable academic and practical achievements in instrumentation.

  • Degree Award
      To be awarded, on any nomination, to the best final year Degree student specializing in any area of instrumentation and Control.
  • Technician Award
      To be awarded, on any nomination, to the best final year certificate student specialising in any area of Instrumentation and Control.

  • Honour's Degree Award
      To be awarded, on the nomination of any third-level institution, to the best fourth-year Honour's Degree student studying Instrumentation / Applied Physics in Ireland. The award comprises a medallion and the Ger Dullea bursary of €750 which is to be used to assist postgraduate studies.
      This award is named to honour of Gerard Dullea, President of the Section in 1991/2 who was tragically killed in an accident in 1993.
  • Ger Dullea Award
      To be awarded, on the nomination of any third-level institution, to the best fourth-year student studying Instrumentation/ Applied Physics in Ireland. The award comprises a medallion and bursary of £500 that is to be used to assist in postgraduate studies.

    Technologist Award

      To be awarded, on any nomination, to the best final year diploma student specialising in any area of Instrumentation and Control.

  • Post Graduate Award
      To be awarded, on the nomination of any third-level institution, to the best Post Graduate student studying Instrumentation / Applied Physics in Ireland.

  • Technology or Special Achievement Award
      To be awarded, on any nomination, in recognition of a significant achievement in, measurement and/or control technology within Ireland.

  • Instrument Pioneer Award
      To be awarded, on the nomination of two or more Society members, in recognition of a lifetime devoted to instrumentation in Ireland.
